Voucher Application Report

This is a brief report on the applications received for the TVAP. The actual voucher recipients are taken from these applications, however it has not reached the same total number.

The summary findings do however provide a direction on where emphasis should be placed for the second round of the TVAP. The key indicators of participation of gender, and ethnic grouping, as well as participation in the non-traditional trade areas are still lagging behind the targets.

This summary tabels provides a good idea of where the ”recruitment” of voucher applicants works. There is a good return of applications from Khammuane, Vientiane Capital, Savannakhet, the Lao Youth Union and Sayabury.

No Applications received for the Dongkhamxang Agricultural Technical School, while the distributions is relatively even for the other institutions, with less applications to Vientiane Professional Development College, Km3 Technical School and Vientiane Technology College. Hence efforts should be placed on increasing the interest for these institutions.

The Ethnic groups represented by 19.3% of the voucher applicants, which is close to the 20% target. A relatively large proportion of applicants did not indicate ethnicity in their applications. A majority of these applications came from Champasack and the Youth Union. Hence efforts should be placed on following the instructions in the applications form.

72.6% were male and 27.4 female, however only 3.8% of females selected one of the three “non-traditional” trade areas. Applications are reaching the general target of 25% female voucher recipients, however falls short of the 20% target for non-traditional trade areas.
